Horses In My Dreams (October 18th, 2007)
So, for a change, this one was kind of fun. Named this post after a PJ Harvey song by the way.I was with one of my friends' (who's also been my neighbour in Molde) horses. It had the same name as one he used to have a few years back, but it was clear that this one in my dream was only named after it, Holiday.
It was grey and white, I think.
I don't remember riding it (except one time I remember looking down when jumping a snow-covered fence), but I walked it here and there in and out of a huge stable building with too many hallways.
And outside this stable building there was a closed yard, buildings and fence all around, and outside that were fields and things, I think.
And one time I just left the horse somewhere. I was doing something else, and I came back into the yard to find it being calmed down by a girl. She walked off just as I arrived, and it was clear that it was spooked or freaked about something. So I finished the job of calming the horse, and it settled, so I decided to take it inside.
But one wing of the stable was being redecorated/rebuilt, and I wasn't sure where exactly I was supposed to go, where Holiday's new stall was. But the horse seemed to know it well himself where he was going, so he took the lead. And we arrived at what was clearly his stall; there were pictures of the horse and owner hanging on the wall outside the stall, a lot of people do that. What's more, there were two pictures of my friend Emeli there. She was on all fours, playing horse. In one of the images she did a nice kick.
Outside the stall was my friend the horseowner's mother, whom I also know well from being my neighbour before. She was was using the vacuum cleaner on the different brushes to get rid of the horse hair. I've never actually seen anyone do that, but it doesn't seem such a bad idea when I think of it.
