September 14th, 2008: Portugese Dreams

I was in Portugal. My mother was there, and my sister and my best friend Line and my stepcousin Anna. And I was showing Line around, I think, even though Nazaré didn't look like it should.
So I was showing Line this religious monument. A stone cross in a sort of tunnel. But it was changed since the last time I had been there, it was black and burned out, with soot everywhere, though the cross was untouched, mind you. But the cross had been vandalized too. People had chizeled graffiti in there, and had dripped candle grease on it in different shapes and colours. One of them was a red rocket.
And I should also mention... The way into the tunnel was by the beach. There was only like a meter from the tunnel opening to the water, so I was thinking that the entrance was probably flooded when the tide came in.
Line and I went through a side tunnel and straight into our house. In reality my mother owns an apartment in a modern apartment building, but this house was very old, I'd say like 100 years or something. With a lot of stairs and steps and corridors and corners. It reminded me of the bookstore where I work in that way, we're in a very old building with so many corners, and the city doesn't allow us to change much or like... have open flames... 'Cause it's a protected building. Anyway... Nevermind.
It was all very white in there. Everything painted white. And round corners. And several beds in the bedrooms, not just one and one. My sister was in one of the bedrooms unpacking. These bedrooms were on the ground floor or in the basement for some reason.
And before this... I had a dream I was visiting Line in some strange new place she was living. She's very creative, and she had this round hallway, meaning in a turn, and there were these windows on the sides... Sorry for saying but it reminded me of these... I dunno what they're called, but places men pay to see women undress behind windows. You know? That's not what they were though. They were displays of her art. I remember only two, though there were several more. One with black tribal tattoo designs and one with a mannequin wearing a very elaborate purple dress, so beautiful. And Line had made both. Good stuff.
