Scottish Double-Decker Yank (February 19th, 2008)
Two dreams this time, they're both quite short, so I didn't intend on posting them right after I had them, but I changed my mind. These ones are for Victor as promised, with the message that he needs to strengthen his dream-banishing powers.I was traveling through Scotland. I loved traveling in Scotland in the body, but in my dream state it had a bad feeling to it. I remember being in a car and on a ferry with my mother and sister. The trunk of the car was very full.
Through all of the journey the sky was clouded and the weather cold, as if on the verge of rain.
I remember gulls and waves when on the ferry, and another view of a steel grey loch in a valley between two mountains. The landscape i saw reminds me of the wonderful landscape photos of Rebecca Cusworth, and most of them are taken in Scotland after all. Take a look at them, it'll not only give you a pleasant art viewing but an idea of what I saw.
Last night I was on a red double-decker London bus, on the upper deck under the open air. The railings were so much lower than usual, not more than 50 centimeters. And the bus was not in London either. It was in a rural area, I remember seeing a barn up front.
Also, the wheel was in the wrong place. It was on the upper deck, and my mother was driving.
At the middle of the bus at the front, there was mounted a carved wooden bird, perhaps an eagle. A large thing, made from both light and dark wood. And at one point, it broke off. And my mother and I both tried to mount it back on, together. And we had to use both hands, 'cause this bird was really big and heavy, so my mother let go of the wheel. You know where this is going, right? So, this made the bus bump down into the meadow on the left-hand side, and it was a rocky ride. I was standing, I stumbled and the back of my knees hit the railings, and I fell out of the bus.
I hate that, so I yanked myself out of sleep in the middle of the fall, so I didn't have to hit the ground, thankfully.
